The Town of Oxford is hiring a full-time, non-exempt utility clerk in the clerk-treasurer’s office. Applications are available at the Oxford clerk’s office at 105 S. Howard St., Oxford, IN 47971 between 9a-4p, M-F on Friday, October 13, 2023. Hours will be 8a-4p M-F and approximately two hours from about 6:30p-8:30p every first and third Monday, monthly. This position is responsible for billing and collection of town utility services and provides support services to town residents and other town departments. This position reports directly to the town council. Job requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to be bonded by insurance for town financial responsibilities, pre-employment background check, drug test, valid drivers’ license. Previous customer service experience, office and computer experience is preferred. Benefits offered include health, vision, dental, and life insurance; 457 retirement; vacation, personal, sick, paid holidays, flex, and compensatory time. The Town of Oxford offices will close Monday, September 6th in observance of Labor Day. Emergencies should be reported to Town Superintendent, Rick Robbins at 765-585-2551.

Utility bill payments may be placed in the brown mailbox to the left of the town hall door, or online at www.invoicecloud.com/oxfordin (service fee applies). Payments may also be made at a teller window of Alliance Bank branch in Oxford during regular banking hours.

Trash services will be affected by the holiday; collection will be on Tuesday, September 7th.

The regular Town Council meeting scheduled for Monday, September 6th has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 7th.

ORDINANCE NO. 2021-0802B An Ordinance Amending Ordinance 2004-4 Regarding the Procedures for Allowing Access to Public Records The Town Council of the Town of Oxford, Indiana ordains as follows: WHEREAS, it is necessary to make public records available to anyone who requests them, to insure requests are reviewed and answered in a timely manner, and to provide authorized records within a reasonable time, all in accordance with Indiana Code 5-14-3, et seq., regulating Access to Public Records; and WHEREAS, the Town Council previously passed Ordinance No. 2004-4, which established certain per-page charges to copy public records, which the Town Council desires to amend; and WHEREAS, the Town Council desires amend certain provisions of Ordinance No. 2004-4 to provide for additional fees for law enforcement recordings. NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to Indiana Code 5-14-3, et seq., be it ORDAINED that Ordinance 2004-4 is hereby amended as follows: *** C. To recover the costs of reproducing these records, the Town Clerk-Treasurer shall assess the persons making the request a charge of $.10 per page for photocopying of single-sided standard 8 ½ x 11 inch paper, and for copying photographs, audio tapes, electronic media, non-standard documents, and other items that may not be duplicated on a standard photocopier, the Clerk-Treasurer shall charge the direct cost for such copying, as defined by Ind. Code § 5-14-3-2. Pursuant to Ind. Code § 5-14-3-8, the Town shall also assess a charge of $150.00 per recording for recordings from body cameras, dash cameras, trail cameras and any other law enforcement recording. *** All other provisions of Ordinance No. 2004-4 shall remain in full force and effect.
